If you want to get tested for STIs, there are different options for testing. Please select which statement best describes you so that we can provide the service that suits your needs.
I am under 18
If you’re under 18 please attend our walk-in clinic at Barking Community Hospital to test for sexually transmitted infections.
You can attend our walk at all times, including our emergency times.
I have symptoms
If you have symptoms of an STI we’ll need to see you in person for testing. Please attend our walk-in clinic at Barking Community Hospital.
I have no symptoms
If you’re 18 or over and you have no symptoms, we’d recommend ordering a self-testing kit. If you’re sexually active we’d recommend getting tested every 3-6 months, or every time you change your sexual partner, even if you have no symptoms.
You can order free self-testing kits that are delivered to your home. You can order one from Sexual Health London here: https://www.shl.uk/ . Using the kits you can test for chlamydia, gonorrhoea, HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
If you’d rather have an in-person test, please attend our walk in.
I’ve been in contact with someone who has tested positive for a sexually transmitted infection
If you’ve been in contact with someone who’s tested positive for a sexually transmitted infection, please call 020 8138 2333
A member of the team will ask you some questions to assess what services you need. Based on your conversation they will either offer you an appointment for treatment or for testing, or advise you attend the walk in.
