Visiting the sexual health clinic, particularly for the first time can seem daunting, however, all our friendly staff are here to help and will never judge you. We provide confidential sexual health services, advice and support to young people, even if you’re under 18.
Attending the service
Anyone under the age of 18 can attend all our walk in times at Barking Community Hospital, including our emergency sessions.
Visiting the sexual health clinic
If you’re under 18 you’ll be seen by a health advisor who will ask you some questions to ensure your safety and wellbeing. You can also ask them any questions that you have about sexual health.
All appointments at Outpatients East are confidential. Even if you’re under 18, we won’t tell your parents or guardians, although we might encourage you to tell them. If we believe that you or someone else are at risk of harm, we may need to share information with other staff or agencies. Where possible, we will always try to discuss this with you first.
