If you have been tested for sexually transmitted infections at Outpatients East, please allow up to 14 days to receive your results.

Results are normally delivered via SMS text message, or we may send you an SMS text asking you to call the clinic to discuss your results further.

Sometimes we may call you to discuss your results, please note calls may be from a withheld number.

If your results were all negative you will receive a text saying:

‘Your results from the tests on [date of test] are all Negative. Outpatients East, BHRUT. NHS-NoReply’

We do not usually provide a breakdown of your test results via text message, if you wish to request further information about your test results, please call our results line on 020 8138 2333.

  • Monday: 8am to 4pm
  • Tuesday: 8am to 4pm
  • Wednesday: 8am to 4pm
  • Thursday: 8am to 4pm
  • Friday: 8am to 12pm

Results letters

We can provide a results letter on headed paper with a breakdown of your results for a fee of £20 which is non-refundable. 

If you’d like written confirmation of your results following your recent attendance, please call 020 8138 2334. 

Please allow up to five working days from the date of your request for the letter to be produced. Once we’ve generated your results letter, you’ll need to collect from Barking Community Hospital with a valid photo ID.
